Description:

The Nocturnal Optics Australia AVS-9 Night Vision Binocular is a lightweight, aviation-style dual-tube night vision system designed around the proven AN/AVS-9 binocular architecture. Providing a natural 1× magnification and 40° field of view, the AVS-9 delivers stereoscopic night vision while maintaining excellent situational awareness and depth perception.

Designed for helmet-mounted operation, the system incorporates an adjustable 52–72 mm interpupillary distance (IPD) range and individual diopter adjustment from -4D to +2D, allowing the binocular to be configured to suit individual users. A close-focus capability of approximately 25 cm through to infinity provides flexibility across both near-field and distance viewing applications.

The AVS-9 uses a remote battery pack configuration, providing extended operating endurance while relocating battery weight away from the front of the helmet. Depending on configuration, the system supports 2 or 4 AA batteries with an operating duration of 40+ hours.

At approximately 505 g excluding the battery, the binocular maintains a relatively lightweight headborne configuration suitable for extended periods of use.

Each complete system assembled by Nocturnal Optics Australia undergoes our quality-control and preparation process prior to dispatch. This includes functional QC testing, optical inspection, dry-nitrogen purging and optical collimation to ensure both optical channels are correctly aligned and the completed binocular is ready for operation.
