Description:

The Argus Panoramic Night Vision Goggle Ball Detent Mount Variant (APNVG-BD) is a panoramic night vision goggle system designed to expand the user’s field of view from the typical 40-degree field of view found on standard monocular or binocular night vision systems, out to an increased 100-degree panoramic field of view.

The APNVG achieves this by using four image intensifier tubes, allowing the user to gain significantly improved peripheral vision without reducing system resolution or compromising optical collimation.

The two centre image intensifier tubes are aligned parallel and face directly forward, providing the user with normal binocular depth perception, improved perceived resolution, and enhanced visual acuity through stereoscopic vision. The two outboard tubes are angled outward to provide additional peripheral vision to the left and right sides. As a result, the user perceives three overlapping circular fields of view, greatly improving situational awareness compared to conventional dual-tube systems.

This new Ball Detent Mount variant is designed for compatibility with ANVIS-style ball detent helmet mounts, including systems such as the Wilcox GSGM / ANVIS-9 style mount. This mounting configuration allows for fast and intuitive attachment and removal from compatible helmet systems, making donning, doffing, transport, storage, and equipment setup more efficient.

The APNVG-BD is ideal for users who require a panoramic night vision capability while preferring an aviation-style ball detent mounting interface rather than a traditional dovetail mount.

These fully assembled units boast Generation 2+ or Generation 3 (GaAs Photocathode, Thin-Filmed) North Night Vision Technology (NNVT) Intensifier Tubes with impressive tube performance, our tube options range from 1400+ to 2000-2200+ Figure Of Merit (FOM). Additionally, all devices undergo Dry Nitrogen Purging and Optical Collimation.

Dioptre Adjustment Information:

THE ARGUS APNVG FEATURES ADJUSTABLE DIOPTERS, HOWEVER, ADJUSTMENT BY THE USER IS NOT RECOMMENDED AND MAY VOID WARRANTY. THE STANDARD DIOPTER ADJUSTMENT IS -0.5.

The Argus APNVG's standard -0.5 diopter configuration establishes a system focal point at 2 meters, delivering ergonomic viewing comfort for individuals with standard or corrected vision. Users wearing prescription lenses should maintain the -0.5 diopter setting for optimal performance. Those operating without corrective eyewear should calculate their required diopter by subtracting 0.5 from their optical prescription value, ensuring precise focus alignment and sustained visual acuity during extended night usage.
